Review: L’OREAL PARIS Magic Perfecting Base

Hey all! I just thought I would share this product I’ve really been loving. It’s the L’OREAL PARIS Magic Perfecting Base, which is a primer. At first I wasn’t sure about buying this because the container is quite small but I happened upon a $2.00 off coupon for it and decided to buy it.

I have been using this for about three months and haven’t had any break outs. It also really does keep my makeup on all day. What has made it one of my favorite products is how it has also lasted quite a long time for being only 15 ml. It also has a mousse like texture and goes on really smooth, leaving the face nice and soft. I will definitely be purchasing this again when I run out. Costs: $12.95 or $10.00 (amazon)

Products I regret buying: #1

Hello, I thought I should group these products together instead of making separate blogs of each since they are each disappointing products. Let’s get started:

By far my most disappointing resent purchase is the John Frieda Frizz-Ease 3-day straight styling spray. For one thing, all though it got rid of my frizz it left my hair really stiff. Most alarming though, was how it left it feeling sticky. Yes, I said it STICKY. Not only that but it didn’t last 3 days straight. My hair was straight for one day, add to that how it felt sticky/stiff and you get a horrible product. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. Costs: $8.99

The second product I regret buying is Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer 002. I was really excited to buy this because I had recently found out about primers. I don’t like to take make up along to school and work for touch ups so this seemed like a good fit. This product seemed perfect, the price was also reasonable at $7.49. The problem with it was that it made me have horrible breakouts. I usually get small pimples but after using this I got really big ones where I had put the primer. It also didn’t keep my makeup on. I would not recommend this product.

The third product I regret buying is the Clean and Clear finishes mattifying cleanser. Maybe I put my hopes to high with this product. I was expecting it to keep my face matte for most of the day. It only kept it matte for a few hours before my skin got oily again. Besides that it was a good cleanser but don’t buy it if you expect it to keep your skin matte. Costs: $7.24

Thank you, for reading my post! Let me know what products you regret buying.

Suave Pro. Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo: Review

If you’re like me and have super oily hair, dry shampoo sounds like a miracle! You’re supposed to wash your hair every other day so it keeps the natural oils and doesn’t dry out. I usually have to wash my hair everyday because it’s so oily. When I saw the new Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo I decided to give it a try.

The packaging is nice and sleek. It looks like a hairspray bottle (and indeed I caught my grandma using it as hairspray!) When you spray it in your hair it leaves it looking white, which I was bothered with at first because I don’t want to look like I’m in my 50’s even for a second! But after a couple of uses I realized how it was useful, so you know where to rub in the shampoo, which you spray directly on your roots.

The moment of truth… Although this product made my life easier in the mornings, to get out of the house faster without washing my hair, it only kept my hair looking “washed” for a couple of hours. Usually, by the third hour I was out my hair would start to look oily again. I won’t be buying this product again because I want something longer lasting. Being a student and all, I’m usually at school all day. I think this product would work well for someone with less oily hair and if you’re running out for errands that will only take a few hours. If you have really oily hair like me though, and need something to last all day, we have to use a heavy duty one.

I hope this review was helpful, let me know if you know of any dry shampoos that work well for oily hair!

Thank you for reading!
